In 1956, Andy E. Garcia purchased $15 in materials and began producing barbacoa in his garage. He sold the barbacoa from his truck for $30 and now, 46 years later, he is chairman of Garcia Foods, Inc. a major producer of a line of Mexican products that extends beyond barbacoa to include chorizo, tamales, picadillo, carne guisada, refried beans, masa, chile, chicharonnes and menudo.

Kenny Garcia, one of six children, grew up in the business, and in 1999 took over the day-to-day operations. Today, Kenny follows the innovative tradition of his father by expanding the product line and extending distribution throughout the country.
